"She's making a name for herself here." The truth is, she already has by merely being the daughter of the High Queen. "Enough victories to tower over me now. Jon battles in the arena as well."
Loyalty is something she offers and expects in return. When someone proves that loyalty to her, it's an affirmation of making the right choice. That she's picked someone smart and strong. That she has done well enough to deserve it. That Chiron's chosen to remain in the contract with her is not a point she's overlooked. It still surprises her, especially after speaking with Mordred weeks ago. Different masters, more magic.
"That quickly?" A look of surprise. "If you had someone with more magic, how long would it take to recover?"
Not that she asks because she wishes for this bond to be broken--his voice in her mind is as reassuring as the mind ravens Jon sends her. Daily little comments, sometimes entirely pointless, but still something she's come to expect and need in this place.
More of the same about this mission. Young briefly mentioned COST's last mission in this place, and the more I think it, the more I feel like we're likely making the same, or similar enough, mistakes.
