[ While their goal here in Lemuria hasn't been entirely clear until now, mission assignments have finally come through and this one is straight-forward. Angela and Genji have been tasked with infiltrating the main genetics labs in the city to cease their activities, which range from cloning to the most unethical kind of genetic modification. They've been given free range to tackle the mission however they want, though Genji already knows what Angela's terms will be. Do as little harm as possible, while still getting the job done.
Genji hasn't spent much time in the Pyramid district during his time here. The way that the grossly rich completely take advantage of the less fortunate is something that bothers him down to his core, and he'd rather see as little of it as possible. After getting this assignment, however, he's done his due diligence in scoping out the Kargarov Lab. It's well guarded, but for someone like him, there's always a way in.
Both he and Angela are outfitted in their necessary gear, and Genji likes the familiar weight of his katana at his back, even though he doesn't plan to make much use of it. It's a comfort all the same. He's led them toward the back side of the building. There's a third floor window that doesn't get much attention, and while most people wouldn't be able to scale such a height, it's no problem for someone like him.
He turns to Angela, admiring her in her Valkyrie suit; it's been far too long since he's seen her in all her glory. ]
I'll get up, then you fly to me!
[ Without another word, Genji climbs up the side of the building until he reaches the window in question. He uses the hilt of his wakizashi to slam against the window sill, weakening it until he can force it open and stand inside. He turns back to look at Angela, motioning for her to boost up toward him. ]

she gave a quick reflexive stretch of her wings, the first test real use of the suit she'd had, other than a minor test, since receiving it. satisfied, ready but a little nervous, angela gave him a nod, watching as genji flawless scaled the building.
at his gesture she readjusted the staff in her hands, gliding up to him, ducking in the window beside him )
So far so good.
( and she'd like to keep it that way. angela takes a look around inside the room before looking back to him )
We should keep going, get this done.

The area of the building that they've broken into isn't currently in use for anything, which is why it's eerily quiet for now. That will no doubt change as they move toward the center of the building, but Genji is ready for whatever comes.
He'll keep Angela safe, and he knows she'll do the same for him. ]
Understood, Dr. Ziegler.
[ He smirks behind the faceplate and then starts to move, setting a quick pace as he leads them down quiet corridors and through unoccupied rooms. ]

as they walk she keeps close behind him, checking every so often for anyone around or behind them but for the moment it's very quiet. she doesn't know whether to feel reassured or nervous about that. perhaps it's normally like that, perhaps everything will go to plan )
I think that we're getting close.
( or she hopes so, wanting to get there before anything happened )

He sees a group of people in white coats. Some of them are looking through microscopes, others are flipping through images on a holographic screen, and yet more are typing in notes. Everyone is hard at work, and completely unaware of the breach into their work space. ]
It seems unlikely they'll want to fight us. Should we try to reason with them first?
[ Genji addresses Angela in a soft tone, not wanting to draw attention until they're ready for it. He already knows what her answer will be, but he wants to prepare her before they burst through the door. ]

she nods again, a small confirmation of his suggestion. something non-lethal would always be angela's first idea and if in this case, it would be advantageous rather than just a humanitarian thought than it was even better )
We should try. Hopefully they will listen.
( would at least give them an opportunity to talk rather than quickly attack. it was unlikely, it rarely ever went like such a plan, but if genji believed they would be unlikely to fight then angela could at least hope )
Let me try.
( she was the scientist even if angela didn't know how convincing she could be )

She can try to appeal them, from one doctor to another, and so Genji is willing to give the pacifist route a try. With a nod, Genji pushes the door open, at which point all of the people inside look up at them.
Genji puts both hands up in the air, but it would be hard to miss the two blades that he wears on his person. ]
Please, we mean you no harm. We only wish to put a stop to what's happening here.
[ A few of the people tighten their shoulders or exchange looks. Well, it's not like he expected it to be that easy. ]
for siegfried
Now there's a 'dragon' to fight, or possibly just reason with, and he can't imagine why he'd been picked for this particular task. His partner is Siegfried, who he'd sparred with once before Jhashch, though they haven't had the opportunity to work together more recently.
That doesn't bother Genji. Siegfried seems perfectly capable, and he doesn't only think that because of the size of his sword, impressive though it might be.
It doesn't take long to find Jörmungandr. It would be hard to miss a giant snake thrashing through the fields and wreaking havoc. Genji and Siegfried stand at a distance, as Genji tries to formulate some sort of plan. ]
Have you fought a beast like this before?
[ Maybe it would be better to defer with someone who has actual experience. ]

[The answer that comes back isn't hesitant one, per se, but it's not exactly overconfident. Jörmungandr is more snake than dragon, but beasts like him? Well, he's a god in Norse legend and Siegfried isn't quite sure he has what it takes to take down a god. Considering their luck has been poor in and out of these missions, a part of him worries how bad the Rhinegold will interfere with this mission itself.]
Fafnir was a dragon, not a snake. And when we fought, we nearly killed each other. [He's still proud of that fight, but there's more uncertainty than ever in knowing if he can do this. But he has to try. People will die, and the current future will suffer even more if he doesn't. That's reason for him enough to wield Balmung against Jörmungandr.]
no subject
Let's try to avoid that.
[ Genji lets out a sigh, preparing himself to leap down from the outcropping they're perched on so that they can approach Jörmungandr. ]
Do you think there's any way to reason with it?
