DREAM I.
[the first thing heard is a train.
it stands out like a sore thumb, a glowing red train pausing only to let nonresponsive, wobbling, quiet people board on before taking off. it's obviously a subway, dark and filled with whispers from places no one can see. it looks normal now, on a small floor with nothing but a rest stop, but go down the escalator... and things look instantly worse.
skeletal arches make up the walls and train tracks, veins stick to the brick and pulses as if it's alive. heavy smoke hangs in the air, the whispers and groans are louder, but there is still no one in sight. the tracks go in any which way and no sense seems to be made by whoever created it. but that large creature does notices an intruder after a turn into a hall.
it hurries in a faster pace than someone could expect, immediately splitting into two enemies that are already on the attack.
good thing akira followed the noise, already running forward.]
Who are— get back! Attack Moloch's head! [which one is moloch!?]
DREAM II.
[the teacher tells you to quiet down because everyone's taking their exam. she hopes you studied.
so what can you answer: what event did emperor nero add to the olympics so he could participate? who do you think is the origin of the term "magistrate's patronage"? what is the origin of the English word "talent"? what's the least number of colors needed to paint japan so no two adjacent areas are the same color? what is said to be the reason why people began dreaming in color?
you name it, as you scan over the test: math, history, science, japanese...
akira pokes with a pen, quiet, since he's probably in the same boat.]
What's the answer to number two? [whispers.............]
DREAM III.
[come on, we're being paid by commission, or that's what your boss says at the flower shop. a customer steps forward, nervously asking for a bouqet that means he wants to stay friends with an ex. why is he gifting an ex with flowers?
the manager turns around, requesting an arrangement that symbolizes friendship. hopefully someone else has a clue on flower meanings, because akira definitely doesn't.]
Wasn't friendship a yellow flower? What kind of... [mumbled to himself, instead tying a lot of red roses together, because he obviously does not care.]
WILDCARD.
[hit me up!]
CLOSED TO RYUJI.
[looks down at his plate of assorted food he just got from the buffet, apparently ready for more. why is he ready for more...? he didn't even touch his plate—
looks over to ryuji, right beside him, and whatever questions he had bubbling to the surface disappear. right, they came here together to celebrate. ann's on the way, just late. it happens.]
... Ryuji, too much meat. Let's find you some edamame. [already reaching for the bin to drop some onto ryuji's plate, not taking any protests.
— but he pauses, looking past ryuji and his gaze focus on kamoshida in line, grabbing food, and he's left speechless as his eyes widen.]
CLOSED TO NOCTIS.
[he's used to whispers as he passes trough the hallways, rough as usual and the students don't mind giving him space as he walks to class. he knows it's because they're cautious about him, and he wishes that wasn't the case, but he knows what a possibly worse decision to fix it could do. best just to be hated for a year, then get it over with.
what does make him stop is when he hears a student whisper: "think that prince's dad will give kurusu a pardon or something?" it sounds pretty great, getting a royal guy's blessing, but he starts to question what the hell's going on as he hears more of it.
and more of it. why?]
— Noctlight? [finds him in the middle of a crowd of students, the whispers only getting louder.]
CLOSED TO HEI.
[he's a veteran on waking up in the velvet room, at this point. it's happened so many times that he feels nothing, just a roll of his eyes as he sits up, gazing at the velvet walls of his cell and letting the heavy metal weigh on his wrists. it's actually comforting, considering everything— thrown from home, expected to fight with people he's never met before, separated from most of his friends, his personal mission put on hold... but this is welcome, this can help.
if only the twins and igor were here. — why aren't they?
sees the empty desk in the middle of the room, standing and gripping the bars that have never opened for him. no one's there. where'd they go...?
hears rustling in the cell beside him, and that's what causes him to jerk in surprise. it's always just been him, stilling to hear any further sounds. a grunt, probably in surprise, the rattle of chains...]
Hello?
my prompt, mine, closed to me only
Didn't he graduate, anyway? Why is he back here? The thought brings with it the usual anxiety that a normal nonsensical dream does with none of the logic. Spotting Akira is a relief, then. ]
Oh, hey. [ The crowd seems to part the second he addresses him, met all around with confused stares. "How does Kurusu know royalty? You think he has criminal connections up top?" ]
Do you have a spare uniform? [ These black royal fatigues aren't working out. ]
noctis whispering "my precious"
walks up to him, hands in his pockets, and yeah— why is he out of uniform?]
No, sorry. We can always stop by the office though.
... It's the middle of the school year. How do you not have one yet?
AU it immediately
Maa... They didn't mention my clothes. [ He steps towards Akira now, however, red-bottomed boots sounding against the floor as he settles a hand on his hip. ]
Let's go. I forgot the way.
no subject
You already want me to lead you, huh...
[he doesn't mind at least, already turning on his heel to walk down the hallway. the whispers are almost deafening, why is the punk hanging out with royalty? well, better question, why is it any of their business?]
They're usually not so loud. It's making me tired.
no subject
No wonder he's rebelling by hanging out with Akira. ]
I've been tired all week... I think receiving Titan's blessing really wore me out.
no subject
[idly, watching students who turn from them. it's nothing new, but for some reason it's extremely noticeable right now...
...
pauses at the middle of the stairs, a hand raising to card through his hair— something's off. what's off?]
You're— who's Titan?

Or very exciting. Is it a good thing to be excited to be in some else's dream when it's something she's fairly sure most people hate? It's school after all. But when you've got the brain the size of a planet, and all that: ]
It's three times y divided by x.

ends up staring longer than he means to, which has the teacher come over and smack his hand away from hovering at angel. yeah, it was pretty awkward.
but dreamkira is stupid.]
You didn't even think about the answer... do you take cram school?
[and because dreamkira is SERIOUSLY stupid:] Can you tutor me sometime?
no subject
I - no. [ To explain or not to explain.
Not. ] I'm just really good at this. But - [ Tutor someone? ] I mean sure. Of course. I'd be happy too.
no subject
Did— [squinting at his sheet...] Did Louis Capet lose his head in 1792 or 3?
no subject
Maybe we could have pancakes. [ It's a idle pleasant thought. As she writes the next answer on her paper. Looking up and across to him, a little needling frown. ] Are you okay?
no subject
I don't know. [in all honesty, which is weird in itself.] Something doesn't make sense about that... wait, how long have you been going to school here?

the kinky one
who dressed him like this? how did he get caught? was he stolen away in his sleep?
stops rustling as immediately as the voice reaches him, stilling, quieting. his mind races. does he respond to them and try to ask questions or does he stay silent and hope the person goes away? the first option puts him at risk, despite how lucrative the information may be. the second doesn't ensure his safety but keeps him under the radar, something that moves him a step back instead of where he needs to be.
tentatively, hei slides off of the rigid cot. tries to walk towards the front of the cell where iron bars keep him caged, but finds his ankle tugged, nearly tripping on the lead of a weighty ball and its chain. jesus.)
I'm— I'm here. What is this?
i guess i HAVE seen this porno a couple times
The Velvet Room. It's, uh... you're safe, don't worry. [the first reassurance he thinks to make.
— oh.]
Hei? [obviously a guess.]
no subject
(the velvet room? is that supposed to make sense to him? nothing about his cell is dripping in the material, despite the "lobby" looking as posh as any place should. his sleep deprivation creases his under-eye, jaw tight.
it only lets up when his name is called into question, nodding to no one. rather, the familiar voice. who—?)
...
Akira. I shouldn't be surprised I'm here, but — what happened? Did I make a mistake?
no subject
[unlike his other dreams, akira has a clear conscience in the velvet room, and it's easy to deduce exactly what's going on. there's still no sign of the usual residents, and that's a concern all on its own.]
No, you didn't. At least, from what I know. Maybe you're a criminal back home but that doesn't matter here. What do you remember?
no subject
Remember? I don't know, I was out walking. I found a spot in the mess hall.
(then what? did they take him to the brig? there's nothing so ornate aboard this ship, is there?)
Then I was here.

[Lup's got her (bare) feet up on the back of the chair in front of her, poking at the back of the student in front of her's head. They don't seem to have noticed, or maybe don't care? Maybe they're really focused. She doesn't know.]
[She's got gum in her mouth, and she doesn't know how it got there, but she blows a bubble and pops it loudly since she's got the opportunity.]
"On the light fantastick toe." Dancing. You should dance on out of here, honestly, what a fuckin' drag.
no subject
well, it's probably because her piercings are cool. she even props her feet up? where the hell are her shoes?
...
reaches down to start unlacing his boots...]
What's a fantastic toe? Is it a well manicured? I don't do those.
no subject
[She spins in her seat to half-face him and pops her gum again. From this angle, it's obvious that she's got pointed ears, which either makes her more or less cool depending on your perspective.]
It's the toe of somebody who doesn't give a shit. Somebody who does what they want, even if there's not really any point to it. Nimble and fuckin' whimsical.
. . . Nice boots. [She sees you.]
LATE IM SORRY
So when Akira offers to get some Healthy Life Choices into him, he just looks up from his plate with the most malicious glare he could muster, and goes to scold him bitterly for that until he catches the sight of disbelief that he's in.]
Beans!? You're gonna tell me to eat--- huh? What's goin' on?
face punishment
he doesn't focus on the words but it suddenly becomes clear cut, and all he hears is ann. that dumb blonde, do you think she's as easy as the kids say, her best friend isn't as hot but when you need to go down the list—
shock doesn't describe it.]
I thought we—
step on me akira
That... fucking ASSHOLE.
[No one seems to notice him screaming a vulgarity in the middle of a crowded hotel buffet, and no one seems to find it out of place that Ryuji lunges from the couch behind him, and straight towards Kamoshida, trying to tackle him down at the waist---
And goes right through him, hitting his frame up, painfully against a buffet table that hurts him, but doesn't budge an inch.
What the fuck?!
Even worse, he looks up to see Kaneshiro, a visage that was occluded by the crowd a few moments ago, agreeing with him, telling the volleyball coach that he has blackmail on her, and how easy it would be to get her in bed if he wanted to. Ryuji chokes back, horrified by what he's seeing.]
No. No, no, no. How is this possible!?
you asked
first instinct tells him they haven't seen them, maybe they could take cover somewhere and figure this out, but ryuji acts before he's able to see anything. and that's enough of an answer all on its own.
drops the plate to stop by ryuji's side, checking to see if he's okay, but the look in his eyes sets off akira in his own way.]
... Calm down. Somebody must be playing a trick. [he hopes to god, anyway.]
It just isn't funny.
Re: you asked
Getting up, even though the rage in his heart hasn't quite settled down, he tries swatting at the visage of Kaneshiro- as his gaze brings into full view the entirety of those palace owners they had worked so hard to dismantle.
It's creepy to see all of them together.]
Is this forreal? Are we in Mementos or something? This ain't fuckin' right.
